MORIGI, soprano
BACK
BIOGRAPHY "
She was born
in Turin, where she completed her education.
She made her
debut in Rossini’s “La Gazzetta” and despite her young age, she showed a
natural vocal and stylistic bent for the “bel canto” repertoire.
In the first
ten years of her career, being very young, she devoted herself to Baroque
repertoire, taking part also to several recordings of pieces dated back to the
early 19th century; in this
period she performed in some of the most prestigious theatres and in Italian
and foreign Festivals.
After her debut in Rossini’s “La Gazzetta”, she also
performed Rossini’s “Il Barbiere di
Siviglia”, “Elisabetta Regina di Inghilterra” and the profane cantata “Argena e
Melania”; Donizetti’s “Lucia di
Lammermoor”, “Don Pasquale”, “Elisir d’amore” and “Gianni di Parigi. Vivaldi’s

During these
years Gabriella Morigi has developed a big store of technical and stylistic
knowledge.
After two
years of pause during which she delivered and took care of her son, she
realized it was the right time to devote herself to the dramatic agile soprano
repertoire that she has been performing successfully and with enthusiasm from 6
years.
She begun
with Verdi’s “I Lombardi alla Prima
Crociata”in Sant Gallen and at the “Tonhalle” in Zürich, and she went on with
